What does that old proverb say? "May you live in interesting times." Well, we are. We are 30 days from an election, and our entire focus is the gyrations of the economic markets that impact all of us. Who is to blame? I hope we do not get too caught up in this. The truth is we are all to blame. If you think that your group, or your party is free from guilt here, well you are wrong. What are we to do about all this uncertainty? This sounds old and trite, but we need to pray. Pray for our nation and its leaders. Pray for our church, that we might be spared from some of the gyrations, and that we might be ready to respond and act in behalf of those who might be struggling now. We also need to be people who look to bring people together, and meet as many needs as we can in these uncertain times. There will be enough, no, too much, finger-pointing about who is to blame. Let's be part of the solution.
